I have notice a lot of inequality in our nation and the more I think on it I can’t help wondering how we are a nation of equals when we have higher standards for someone in a position of power, whether it be an actor/actress, politician, or musician.

Take for example my situation with Shawn Suleiman. Had a politician told someone who was making online purchases for them that they’ll date and live together and the politician turned around and scammed them and broke their word to the person and it got out then people would want the politician held accountable.

Yet with Shawn people want me to move on and let it go and make excuse to okay the wrong Shawn he has done unto me. We do this for all forms of wrongdoings, especially rape when if it is people who are average American citizens like with Shawn where I want to hold Shawn accountable by holding him to his word, it is allow the injustice to happen and the person who did wrong to get away with it and that’s not equality or treating everyone equal in my eyes.

Just because someone is in a position of power doesn’t mean we should hold them more accountable than we do other citizens, it’s a misleading representation that when you are wronged you will get justice when the reality is justice only happens if the person is powerful and going even based on Christian standards for example that isn’t even right.

I’m not sure when this became a social norm but it is definitely something that needs to change. To me a good rule to live by is treat a situation as you would treat a politician and hold the person in the wrong accountable for their actions.
